Challenge: Template Governance

Updating and maintaining their many contract templates was a risky balancing act for a large Dutch Bank’s legal teams. They relied heavily on email and shared drives, making it difficult to track versions, approvals and evidence regulatory compliance. These manual updates lacked a clear owner, leaving the organisation exposed to governance gaps, regulatory fines, operational inefficiencies. In addition, the bank wanted to decommission their incumbent document automation provider (ContractExpress) as it did not offer the full contract automation they required, and created IT and external counsel dependencies they did not want.
